Obituary for Vera M. Wellner

Vera M. Wellner, 90, of Spring Green, formally of Richland Center, died Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at Greenway Manor in Spring Green. She was born on March 24, 1928 to Ben and Margie (Sidler) Johnson of Boscobel, Wisconsin. She married Carl H. Wellner on March 17, 1947 and together they had four daughters. Vera loved being with people and spent many years working at JC Penny in Richland Center and later at Kohls’ in Watertown, Wisconsin. After Carl’s death in 2015 Vera moved to Greenway Manor in Spring Green where she spent her remaining years.

Vera is survived by four children, Vicki White of Portland, OR. Carole Goodhue, of Madison, WI. Linda (Darold) Strine, of Lone Rock, WI. Sharon Bram, of Altoona, WI. Five grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and two great-great-granddaughters. Also surviving is a sister-in-law, Dorothy Powers, of Waunakee, WI. Many nieces and nephews. Vera was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Carl, of 68 years, a sister Ruth Scallon, four brothers-in law, Leo Scott, Keith Powers, Harold Scallon, and Herman Wellner. Two sisters-in-law, Francis Wellner, and Ruth Scott, and two sons-in law, Fred White and John Goodhue.

Vera will be sadly missed by her family and friends. A special thank-you to the entire staff at Greenway Manor, for the exceptional love and care Vera received. A private family memorial and burial will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to a charity of your choice.
