Obituary for Timothy J. Bristol

Timothy J. Bristol, age 66 of Middleton and formerly of Spring Green, passed from this world on Monday October 29th, 2018 after a brave battle with dementia. He was born October 24th, 1952 to Robert and Mildred Bristol of Lone Rock, Wisconsin. From a young age Timm’s caring nature, sense of humor, and knack for entertainment was very apparent. An energetic and sometimes mischievous boy, he loved playing pranks on his siblings and kept the entire household on their toes. In high school, he joined the band, and played the drums. A lifelong passion for music was born. Timm was a proud graduate of River Valley High School class of 1971. After graduation, Timm attended MATC in Madison WI, where he earned an associate degree in marketing. He developed a love for photography and taught himself how to play the guitar. A chance encounter at The Stone Hearth in March of 1974 led him to the love of his life, Diane. Timm and Diane were married on October 4th, 1975 in Richland Center, WI. They enjoyed skiing, camping, traveling, and making music together. In 1981 Timm stepped into his greatest role yet, fatherhood. He was a natural caretaker, sharing equally in the hard work that accompanied newborn twins. Four years later they welcomed their youngest daughter who completed their family. His wife and daughters were everything to him. He regularly proclaimed himself to be the “luckiest guy in the world”. Timm never missed an opportunity to lend a sympathetic ear or comforting hug to his girls. He was our biggest cheerleader and motivator. Timm was a proud and active member of the Spring Green community. He dedicated his time to the EMS and was on ski patrol. He was a member of St John’s Catholic Church where he played music with his wife, Diane for 16 years. Timm had a successful 18 year career in the insurance business. In 2000 he opened his own photography studio, Perfect Image Photos, where he decided to pursue his passion full time. He thoroughly enjoyed capturing special moments within his community and beyond. Timm will be remembered for his kind and generous spirit, deep love for his family and friends, spot on Donald Duck impression, epic campfire sing-a-longs and wicked sense of humor. He made time for everyone and believed that all were worthy of respect and kindness. Timm is survived by his loving wife, Diane of 43 years, three daughters; Jessica Bristol, Nicole (Aaron) Dolan, Angie Bristol (Kyle Redlin), and three granddaughters; Ella, Scarlett, and Remi. Siblings; Bob (Jan) Bristol, Jerry (Ruth) Bristol, Jim Bristol and Barb, Sue (Karl) Bristol Klokke, Mary Bristol Butler (Don Gaines), sisters in-law Jean Bindl (Bob Teeling), Maureen (Mel) Bindl, Paula (Denny) Dischler, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Robert Bristol, mother Mildred Bristol Johnson, step-father Haakon Johnson, infant brother Tommy Bristol, mother in-law Lucille Pulvermacher, father in-law Allan Pulvermacher, and brother in-law Fred Butler. Even while battling dementia, Timm’s kind spirit and gentle manner shined through touching those who cared for him. The family would like to extend a very special and heartfelt thank you to the wonderful staff at Serenity House and Heartland Hospice. Your kindness and compassion for our Dad will never be forgotten. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, November 17, 2018 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church: 602 Everglade Drive, Madison, WI 53717 at 11:00 A.M. with Fr. Bart Timmerman officiating. Visitation will be held on Saturday at the church from 9:00 A.M. until the time of Mass. Following the funeral, friends and family may join us for a reception at the Vintage Brewing Company: 674 S. Whitney Way, Madison, WI. Our Dad loved a good time and we invite everyone to share their fun stories and have a drink in his memory. In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorials be made in Timm’s name to Serenity House Memory Care of Deforest, WI and Heartland Hospice. Online condolences available at www.staffordfuneralhomes.com. The Richardson-Stafford Funeral Home of Spring Green is assisting the family with the arrangements.
