John “Jack” William White, age 84, of Arena passed away on Thursday, February 28, 2013 at Our House in Richland Center. He was born on April 20, 1928 the son of Peter Edward and Mary Agnes (Powers) White of
Barneveld. Jack served in the United States Marine Corp from 1952-1954. He was married on May 5, 1954 to Irene Lamberty. He was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church, the Arena V.F.W. Post #9336 and the Laborers Union Local #464. Jack bartended at White’s Bar in Helena for over 18 years, then worked for Gabe’s Construction and Icke Construction until his retirement. He lived for his hobbies which included hunting, fishing, playing cards, gardening, baseball, and the Green Bay Packers. He was known to his family as a “Jack of all trades.” Jack adored his wife, Irene, for 59 years and loved spending time with his grandchildren (known to them as “papa”). Survivors include his wife, Irene, 7 children, Phyllis (Gary) Amble of Arena, Connie (Jeff) McVay of Arena, Carol (Tom) Ederer of Plain, Francis White (and friend Ginny) of Arena, Brenda (Dan) Bindl of Spring Green, Doreen White of Spring Green, Lisa (Craig) Anding of Arena, 14 grandchildren, Jesse, Jodi (Aaron), Jared (Heather), Melissa (D.J.), Nicole (John), Reuben, Rachel, Sarah (Justin), Wes (Kayla), Audrey (Jason), Nick (Shasta), Justin, Cody, Bryce, 11 great grandchildren, Autumn, Madison, Cohlman, Lila, Reid, Harper, Montana, Olivia, McKayla, Jameson, Elise, 4 siblings, Bernard (Berniece) of Arena, Charlie White of Ridgeway, Raymond (Darlene) of Arena, Richard (Jan ) of Black Earth, many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Agnes, a daughter in-law, Lisa White, 5 siblings, Earl, Bob, Marion, Helen and Paul. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. John’s Catholic Church Endowment Fund or The Alzheimer’s Association. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at St. John’s Catholic Church in Spring Green. Fr. Mike Resop will officiate with burial in the Arena Cemetery at 2:00 P.M. where military graveside rites will be conducted by the Arena V.F.W. Post #9336. Visitation will be held on Monday, March 4, 2013 at St. John’s Catholic Church from 5:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. and again on Tuesday at church from 10:00 A.M. until the time of Mass. The family would like to give special thanks to Our House in Richland Center and Upland Hills Hospice. The Richardson-Stafford Funeral Home in Spring Green isassisting the family with the arrangements.
