Agnes M. Slaney,age 95 of Hillsboro, passed away on Monday, August 27, 2012 following a short illness at the Select Specialty Hospital in Madison. She was born on April 7, 1917 in Cook County, IL the daughter of John and Anna (Hynek) Kaderavek. The Kaderavek family moved to the Yuba area where she married Edwin E. Slaney on February 24, 1936. Edwin and Agnes farmed in the Yuba and Cazenovia area their entire married life. Survivors include, 3 sons, Gene (Kathy), Jake (Sandra) and Joe (Eunice Ann) Slaney, a daughter, Eldora Alexander,  3 brothers, Paul (Lois) Kaderavek, John (Jeanett) Kaderavek, James (Ann) Kaderavek, 32 grandchildren, 70 great-grandchildren, 20 great-great grandchildren, 1 great-great-great grandchild,  nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Anna Kaderavek, her husband, Edwin E. Slaney, 2 sons, Lawrence and Robert Slaney, a daughter, Mary Ann Scott, 2 sisters and their husbands, Bessie (August) Dvorak and Helen (Harris) Walser. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, August 31, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Richland Center. Fr. Roger Scheckel will officiate with burial in the St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery in Melancthon Creek. Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 30, 2012 at the Stafford Funeral Home in Richland Center from 5:30 P.M.-7:30 P.M. Visitation will also be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church on Friday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of Mass. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery Association in Melancthon Creek.
