Helen Joanne Beranek age 80 of Richland Center passed away on Monday, February 20, 2012 at the Golden Living
Center in Muscoda. She was born on April 4, 1931 in Richland Center the daughter of Frederick and Helen (Peterson) Lawrence. Joanne taught school at Rocky Branch School grades 1 through 8 in her early years. She then married the love of her life, Charles Beranek on February 14, 1953. Together they raised a family and Joanne worked as an Aide at Lincoln Elementary School in Richland Center until her retirement. She loved swimming, dancing, music and art. Joanne was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and the VFW Auxiliary. Survivors include her husband, Charles Beranek of Richland Center, 5 children, Susan (Joseph) Triggs and Charles M. (Janice) Beranek both of Richland Center, Lauri (Samy Desouky) Beranek of Middleton, Carol (Mark) Simon of Green Bay, Lisa (Patrick) Franzen of Middleton, 11 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, 2 brothers, William (Fern) Lawrence of Madison, Richard Lawrence of Hastings, MN, a sister-in-law, Lorraine Lawrence of Hastings, MN, nieces nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frederick and Helen Lawrence, a brother, Frederick “Fritz” Lawrence. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, February, 24, 2012 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Richland Center at 11:00 A.M. Fr. Roger Scheckel will officiate with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday, February, 23, 2012 at the Stafford Funeral Home from 4:00 P.M.-7:00 P.M. with a prayer service at 3:30 P.M. Visitation will also be held on Friday at the church from 10:00 A.M. until the time of Mass at 11:00 A.M. The Stafford Funeral Home  in Richland Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
