Obituaries

Patricia L. “Bean” Powell age 63 of Gotham passed away peacefully on Monday, February 21, 2011.  Bean was born on March 16, 1947 in Kickapoo Valley.  She enjoyed a warm and easy life being raised on a farm by her aunt and uncle, Hazel and Clifford Winger.  She graduated from Ithaca High School and then had the desire to travel, which she did, living in New York, Dallas, California and Florida.  She moved back to Wisconsin in 1973 and settled in Gotham.  Bean had many interests including painting and drawing, but her passion was the water.  She loved being on the water fishing, usually with a can of Pabst in her hand.  She had a lot of friends who will always remember her for her infectious laugh and her upbeat personality, but no one will miss her as much as her best friend in life, Cindy Bird of Gotham.  Bean is also survived by a cousin, Gina (Charles) Wilson of Gillingham, other relatives and friends.  Please always remember Bean with laughter, as that is the way she will remember you.  Everything is okay in the end.  If it’s not okay then its not the end. As per Bean’s wishes, private interment will be held at the Viola Cemetery at a later date.  The Stafford Funeral Home in Richland Center, WI is assisting the family with the arrangements.
