William J. Fargen age 86 of Bear Valley passed away on Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at Pine Valley Health Care & Rehabilitation Center. He was born on June 3, 1925 in Sauk County the son of Thomas and Helen (Byrne) Fargen. William graduated from the Lone Rock High School in 1942, following high school he continued working on his parents farm. He enjoyed staying home doing his farm chores and working in his fields driving his John Deere
tractor. In 1945 William and his father purchased an adjoining neighbor farm. Later in life William owned both farms where he lived all of his life. He was married to the former Marjorie Roessler on July 17, 1954 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Loreto Ridge where he was a dedicated member and past parish council member. William loved hunting deer, coon, fox, trout fishing and walking over the hills. He was a pleasant gentleman, kind, quiet and a gifted person. He loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren and would often take them to local restaurants and treat them all. Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Marjorie Fargen of Bear Valley, a daughter, Linda Fargen of Reedsburg, 2 sons, William (Debra) Fargen of Hillpoint, Ron Fargen of Bloomington, IL, 8 grandchildren, Heather, Heidi, Bryant, Brittany, Megan, Michael, Melissa and Brandon, 3 great grandchildren, Alexes, Autumn and Connor, 2 sisters-in-law, Katherine Ann and Edith Fargen, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters and brothers-in-law, Kathleen (Bill) Dolan, Mary (Lawrence) Dunphy, 3 brothers, LeRoy, Martin and Thomas Fargen. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2012 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Loreto Ridge at 11:00 A.M. Fr. Larry Bowens will officiate with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 6, 2012 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church from 4:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. where a parish rosary will be recited at 7:30 P.M. Visitation will also be
held on Saturday at the church from 10:00 A.M. until the time of Mass. The Stafford Funeral Home in Richland Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
