Harry C. Herbrand age 82 of Plain passed away on Monday, November 14, 2011 at the Greenway Manor Nursing Home in Spring Green. He was born on November 17, 1928 in Roxbury, WI the son of Anton and Frances (Blum) Herbrand. Harry was married to Lucy Wittmann on April 28, 2001. He was a member of St. Luke’s Catholic Church in Plain and the Plain American Legion Post #398. Survivors include: His wife, Lucy Herbrand of Plain, 7 Stepchildren, 10 step grandchildren, 5 step great grandchildren, a brother, Melvin Herbrand of Waunakee, a sister, Gertrude Brager and Jerry Haglund of Mt. Horeb, a sister-in-law, Roundy Herbrand of Middleton, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Helen, sisters, Esther, Victoria, Loretta and Arlene, brothers, LeRoy, Richard, Leo and Louis and a step grandson, Jason Wittmann. Harry liked watching sports, playing cards and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, November 17, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Luke’s Catholic Church in Plain. Fr. Mike Resop will officiate with burial in the Sauk City Cemetery at 2 PM, where military graveside rites will be conducted by the Plain American Legion Post #398. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 16, 2011 from 4:00 P.M.-7:00 P.M. at St. Luke’s Catholic Church and again on Thursday at the church from 10:00 A.M. until the time of Mass. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Plain American Legion Post #398 or to a charity of choice. The Richardson-Stafford Funeral Home in Spring Green is assisting the family with the arrangements.
