Oleta S. Hinds age 98, passed away Saturday, September 17, 2011 at Schmitt Woodland Hills after a brief illness. She was born in Richland Center on August 19, 1913 to Charles C. and Myrl (Lundy) Strang. A graduate of Richland Center High School in 1931, she attended Milwaukee Teachers College and Iowa State Teachers College. She married Forrest F. Hinds of Waterloo, Iowa on September 26, 1936. He preceded her in death on December 08, 1995. After WWII, Forrest and Oleta returned to Richland Center to operate Strang Heating and Electric with her brother, Holly Strang. She worked for many years as the bookkeeper for Strang's. Oleta was a charter member of Richland Hospital Auxiliary (Friends of Richland Hospital), a lifetime member of Trinity United Methodist Church and a 50-year member of Eastern Star. Oleta enjoyed spending many hours in her flowergarden.  She also did many needlepoint projects over the years and filled her home with music playing the piano and organ. Oleta is survived by her sister-in-law Eleanor Strang of Richland Center and LornaStrang of Florida. Nieces Pam (John-deceased) McCleese of Bloomington, MN, Jean(Jeff) Alt of Spring Green, Barb (Dick) Marshall of Richland Center, Susan(Hank) Apfel of Florida and Lorna (John) Cary of New Mexico, several greatnieces and nephews, other relatives, and many friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother and sister-in-law Myron and Alvina Strang andtheir sons Gary and Jim, and brothers Loren and Holly Strang. Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, September 21, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at Trinity United Methodist Church with Pastor Bill Busch officiating. Burial will be inthe Richland Center Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday at thechurch from 9:30 A.M. until the time of service.  The Stafford Funeral Home in Richland Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
