Gertrude “Trudy” J. Prahl age 83 of Lone Rock passed away on Monday, April 18, 2011 at Schmitt Woodland Hills in Richland Center. She was born Emma Gertrude Jane Fowler on November 11, 1928 in Cards Harbour, Newfoundland, to parents Isaac Whyte and Sarah Winnifred (Fifield) Fowler. She came to the United States in 1951 and obtained her US citizenship on April 9,1958. Gertrude met her husband William Prahl while they were both at Whiteman Air Force Base, Missouri and they married on October 12, 1963 at Lockbourn Air Force Base, Columbus, Ohio. Gertrude was a member of St. Kilian’s Catholic Church in Bear Valley and Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Lone Rock. She was very instrumental in many peoples lives with her work as a nanny, homemaker and caretaker. She will be missed by those who's lives she had touched so deeply. Survivors include: 2 daughters, Connor Prahl of Lone Rock and Teresa Prahl of Lake Zurich, IL, 2 brothers, Delano (Cora) Fowler, and Gary (Kathy) Fowler both of St. Johns, Newfoundland, Canada, and many extended family, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Isaac Whyte and Sarah Winnifred Fowler; husband William Prahl; brothers Leonard (Selma), Edward (Barbara) , David (Stella) Fowler and sisters Dorothy (Gary) Hammond and Viola (Raymond) Tilley. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, April 27, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Lone Rock.  Fr. Andre Panek will officiate with burial in the St. Kilian’s Catholic Cemetery in Bear Valley. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at the Richardson-Stafford Funeral Home in Spring Green from 6:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. and on Wednesday at the church from 10:00 A.M. until the time of Mass. A rosary will be recited at 10:40 A.M.
