Eugene “Gene” McSweeney age 82 of Spring Green and formerly of Palatine, IL passed away on Saturday November 6, 2010 at Hospice Care in Fitchburg, WI.  He was born on October 6, 1928 in Chicago, IL the son of Eugene and Frances (McDonnell) McSweeney.  Gene was married on June 3, 1950 to the former Joanne Cole.  He was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church in Spring Green.  Survivors include: 2 daughters, Nancy (Dave) Hardyns, Beth (Gordon) Zdeblick, 3 sons, Mike, Dan and Paul (Lynnae) McSweeney, 10 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, 2 sisters, Nancy McCormack and Betty Anderson.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Frances McSweeney, his wife, Joanne McSweeney and a brother, James McSweeney.  Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 9, 2010 from 4:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. at the Ahlgrim Funeral Service, 201 N. Northwest Hwy, Palatine, IL.  Visitation will also be held at St. John’s Catholic Church in Spring Green on Thursday, November 11, 2010 from 10:00 A.M. until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 A.M.  Fr. Mike Resop will officiate with burial in the church cemetery.
