A. Lorraine Williams age 85 of Spring Green passed away at the Sauk Prairie Memorial Hospital, Tuesday, October 26, 2010 with her daughters at her side. Lorraine was born on July 26, 1925 in Bear Valley, the daughter of Mayme (Kittleson) and Stanley Maxwell. She was united in marriage to Herbert Williams, November 5, 1947. Lorraine was an active member of Christ Lutheran Church, participating in altar guild, circle meetings, hosting coffee hours, assisting with church dinners, and generally devoting her time to wherever she was needed. She was a spiritual woman of great strength. Lorraine farmed with her husband for many years in Wyoming Valley. In 1964 she started work at the Graber Company in Middleton. She worked there for 26 years, acquiring many life-long friends. After retirement, she spent much of her time volunteering at Greenway Manor in Spring Green. Lorraine was also very involved in the Spring Green Senior Center. She served on the board in various roles and spent many hours visiting with friends and playing cards, another of her passions. She was a huge baseball fan and rarely missed listening to or watching the games. She loved to cook and bake and was always ready to feed family and friends at a moments notice. Her family was very important to her; she devoted all her time and talents in caring for them over the years.

Lorraine will be greatly missed by her daughters, Jacki (Nick) Luther of Plain, Bonnie (Randy) Smith of Lone Rock, grandchildren, Renee (Dean) Willis, Joshua and Ashley Smith, Lindsey Luther, a great grandson, Logan Willis, and a sister-in-law Violet Maxwell, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, mother and father-in-law, her husband, Herbert Williams, 3 brothers; Shirley, Elwood and Thane Maxwell, 3 sisters; Ruth Richardson, Lucille Schmidt, and Dorothy Paar, 2 sisters-in-law; Jo and Marion Maxwell, 3 brothers-in-law; Glenn Richardson, Reinhart Paar and Leo Schmidt.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 30, 2010 at the Christ Lutheran church in Spring Green at 11:00 A.M. Rev. Douglas Larson-Sell will officiate with burial in the Big Hollow Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 29, 2010 from 5 – 8 PM at the Richardson-Stafford Funeral Home in Spring Green and on Saturday at the church from 10 AM until time of service at 11 AM.

A special thank you to the great staff at Sauk Prairie Memorial Hospital, Dr. Wermuth, Dr. Timmerman and Pastor Douglas for their gentle care and attention during Lorraine’s illness. Memorials may be made to the Christ Lutheran Church or the Spring Green Senior Center
